Organic Insect Repellent

Our organic Insect Repellent body lotions are an absolute godsend for anyone living in the tropics (or anywhere else) where it sometimes seems that even the bugs have bugs! This is an extremely effective formulation using "kale'ai", which is made from taro. The Hawaiians have been using kale'ai for generations to protect the Keiki (children) from mosquitoes, insects and ultraviolet rays as they worked in the taro patches.

Citronella and essential oils sprays evaporate due to the volatile nature and require reapplication. Our lotion is made from unrefined tree nuts and seeds ground into butter and oils and then emulsified with the kale'ai.

  This formula is very nurturing and moisturizing to your skin but sends the bugs running the other way. It has a very refreshing natural floral scent and is safe for use on the skin of all ages, including Keiki (children). Formulated by and tested on people who characterize themselves as “being a veritable luau for mosquitoes,” apply liberally to make your skin happy and absolutely bug-free.
